COLMSLIE RESERVE

Public BBQ

Colmslie Reserve sits along the Brisbane River foreshore, accessed by a long driveway off Lytton Road that gives it a secluded feel despite being in the city. The park features a large open grassy field popular for kicking the footy or throwing a frisbee, with river breezes keeping things comfortable. Multiple free BBQs are available with undercover picnic tables and seating, alongside toilets and water facilities. The boat ramp attracts steady activity and provides entertainment watching varying levels of reversing skill, while a jetty extends into the river for fishing. The shallow sandy beach area works well for kids and dogs to wade around. An enclosed off-leash dog park includes a small obstacle course. Views take in the Gateway Bridge and passing boats and jet skis. Parking is limited but generally available. The reserve includes a small playground, and shaded spots allow for watching the river traffic. The beach area can accumulate litter and needs attention, though the overall setting makes it a decent spot for sunrise watching or casual gatherings.
